Power Factor
Correction
Power Factor Correction, or PFC as it is often referred to is designed to reduce reactive power (kVAr) and improve the ratio between true power (kW) and apparent power (kVA). In most cases, poor power factor is caused by inductive loads, such as motors. This can be compensated by introducing electrical devices called capacitors into the circuit.
PFC Maintenance
Power Factor Correction equipment is an important part of many businesses’ electrical infrastructure, and ensures they are complying with current regulations and utilising their power as efficiently as possible.
It is usually found connected to the main incoming LV supply and reacts automatically to load fluctuations, reducing demand and ensuring an inefficient electrical supply.
